NIN Verification
The NIN (National Identification Number) Verification feature provides seamless programmatic access to verify an individual’s identity using their NIN and other basic personal information. The NIN is an 11-digit unique number issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) as part of Nigeria’s national identification system. It links a person’s demographic data (such as name, date of birth, and address) to their biometric data, serving as a key identifier for citizens and legal residents.
This verification process enables you to cross-check and confirm important user details such as First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and NIN Verification Status. By validating an individual’s NIN-linked information, this feature helps enhance security, reduce identity fraud, and ensure that users’ identities are accurately verified.
The NIN Verification feature is particularly useful for organizations and applications that require robust identity validation for onboarding, transactions, and compliance purposes. It supports adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations while promoting trust and accountability. This service is especially beneficial for financial institutions, telecom providers, government services, and other sectors that require strong identity verification.
